Wedding Day To-Dos
|
 If you've already finalized your wedding date, it's now time to get set go. It's everyone's first time and we totally understand how difficult it can get if things are not properly planned. So, we've made a 'To-Do' list of tasks to follow starting 10 months prior the wedding day to make sure the occasion is a success...
- 10 Months Before
Make your guest list and discuss the budget. Figure out who's paying for what. Hire a wedding planner, if you want one. Book a reception venue and ceremony site and block the date.
- 8 Months Before
Start hunting for your wedding outfit and meet up with a couple of vendors. Make a list of venue's and visit all the places.Finalize the caterer, florist, DJ, ceremony music, and photographer. If it's a destination wedding, make sure you book rooms for your guests.
- 6 Months Before
Meet up with vendors to discuss everything in detail. Place the order for invitations, shop for wedding bands. And in case, of a Christian wedding, if you want the bridesmaid's to dress alike, place the order for their dresses too. Also, book the getaway car.
- 4 Months Before
Plan a rehearsal dinner with all the family members, decide on the wedding theme (if any) and don't forget to order the wedding cake.
- 2 Months Before
Write the vows, if you plan to personalize. Finalize the ceremony selections with the help of family members. Mail or courier the invitations. Accessorize your look and take an appointment for your hair-and-makeup trial.
- 6 Weeks Before
Buy your wedding outfit, footwear and other accessories. Confirm the arrival of the bridesmaid's dresses. Finalize the makeup person and hair stylist. Print the menus, and other wedding-reception stationery.
- 2 Weeks Before
Try your wedding outift, just to make sure the fit is still perfect. Meet up with the photographer and discuss the event. Tell him if you want anything in specific. Also, give a list of songs you want the DJ to play (if any). Send a reminder mail to all your friends and relatives.
- 1 Week Before
Give the final head count to the hotel and caterer. Finalize the seating arrangement. Give last-minute requests to vendors and most important, get your waxing and facial done.
- 2 Days Before
Distribute work among family members. Put all vendor tips in envelopes. Let there be one person in charge of gifts and envelopes. Also, write day-of balance checks that are due. Make sure you remind the event manager, vendors, DJ, etc to reach the venue on time. Get done with all your last-minute beautification like filing your nails and changing your nail colour, etc. Also, this is the right time to throw a bachelor's party for your friends.
