Kebab, Iran
This is a must at weddings or any other special occasions in Iran. For keeping starvation at bay, the doner kebab should clearly be honored. It was Mahmut Aygun who invented the doner kebab. Chili crab, Singapore
You can’t leave Singapore without trying its spicy, meaty specialty. While there are dozens of ways to prepare crab (with black pepper, salted egg yolk, cheese-baked, etc) chili crab remains the local bestseller. Spicy chili-tomato gravy tends to splatter and so it's best paired with mini mantou buns.
French toast, Hong Kong
Well, pigs can't fly but did you know that they can grill beautifully. This Hong Kong-style deep-fried French toast is an extremely popular dish there. Two pieces of toast are slathered with peanut butter or kaya jam, soaked in egg batter, fried in butter and served with still more butter and lots of syrup. We're not saying this is healthy, but there's no harm in enjoying food when you're out on a vacation, right? So, go for it!
