My mother is 42 now, weighing 80 kgs. She underwent an operation wherein her uterus was removed at a very early age. Then after few years they found an ovarian cyst, so operated 2nd time. She was given HRT. She took it just for an year or so... then she switched over to Ayurvedic medicine for preventing early menopausal symptoms. Now she has a slight rise in her blood pressure and she wants to reduce her weight very badly.

Dear Kusum,
There are various methods to remove flab, just follow the given instruction and surely your stomach will be in shape:
a) Follow a strict diet regimen or food plan.
b) Do aerobics and muscle toning exercises.
c) Anti celluloid gel therapy.
d) Body toning sessions, under good professional.
e) Wear abdominal corsets.
If all these methods do not work for you then, consult a physician for liposuction.

How can I acquire a good physique? I'm 6ft 1 inch tall but I don't have a good physique. Everyone says I'm skinny because I am too tall. What should I do?

Dear Nihar,
You didn't mention about your weight and age. I can still roughly guide you by advising a diet rich in carbohydrates and proteins. Do not over exercise. Follow exercise routines three times per week would be enough to start with. For a good physique we advice you to increase protein in your daily diet.

Gain weight

I am 21 years of age. My body structure is thin. I have a normal appetite. But my structure is still the same. I normally have 2 boiled eggs and bananas for breakfast. Can you advise me how to gain weight?

Dear Rakesh,
You don't have to go out of the way to put on weight. Gaining or losing weight depends upon your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). As once you put on weight, losing becomes very difficult. Boiled eggs, banana, dry fruits, fruit juices and milk are perfect ingredients to start your day with. You also mentioned that your appetite is normal, so you do not need to change your eating habits.
