The Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012 ended on 17 September with some beautiful collections from top couturier JJ Valaya...
Guess who was the show stopper for JJ Valaya at the Grand Finale round? It was the gorgeous B-town beauty Nargis Fakhri in a beautiful long sleeve velvet wine coloured kalidaar coat layered over white kurta and churidar. "This outfit makes me feel like a princess. JJ Valaya is a brilliant designer and I really love his outfits. It's a pleasure to be walking the ramp for him," says Fakhri. The collection was called 'The Azrak Collection – The Realm of the Sultan' and the look was inspired by the very colourful Ottoman Empire.
As far as the men's collection goes, Valaya had some male celebs walk the ramp in his creations including - Rahul Dev, A D Singh, Designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed, Salim Merchant, Bikram Saluja and ex-model Ranjeev Mulchandani to name a few.
Valaya seemed to have focussed on fabrics like fine silks, jacquards, georgette, rich velvets, all heavily embellished with the finest of metal work, zardozi, badla, resham and inlaid with semi precious stones to create the glory of the past with the fusion of the present. Valaya is known to imbibe the rich heritage of the past in his creations and we could see that in his bridal creations. Grand Finale came to an applauding close with showers of confetti.
